The Haywood County Tourism Development Authority represents more than 900 accommodations—from bed and breakfasts, cabins, campgrounds, cottages, country clubs, inns, hotels, lodges, motels, resorts, vacation rentals, and villas—throughout the county and provides annual funding to Haywood County for promotions, events and festivals. Funding for HCTDA is generated by a 4-percent occupancy tax charged to guests by accommodations. The TDA produces an annual visitors guide (print and eletronic versions available) and hosts a visitors website, www.VisitNCsmokies.com. The HCTDA has a strong presence on Facebook www.facebook.com/SmokyMountainsNC, YouTube www.youtube.com/SmokyMountainsNC and operates a toll-free hotline to provide visitors with information.
HCTDA also operates 3 county Visitors Centers located in Downtown Waynesville, Maggie Valley, and Downtown Canton.
